During the week of April 27- May 1, 2009, top-rated morning program "Live with Regis and Kelly" gave the show's nationwide TV audience a vicarious thrill when America's favorite co-hosts jumped into the roles of some of the best Broadway characters during "On Broadway Week."

In this "swampy" segment, Regis Philbin gets a complete makeover when he is transformed into the swamp-dwelling green ogre "Shrek" during his visit to the Broadway show. Plus, The Cast of "Shrek The Musical" also performs in-studio as the curtain comes down on "On Broadway Week."

Shrek The Musical features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize® winner, David Lindsay-Abaire, music by Olivier Award-winnerJeanine Tesori, and is directed by Tony Award® nominee Jason Moore. The new show opened at the Broadway Theatre on Sunday, December 14th, 2008. Shrek The Musical stars Tony Award® nominee Brian d'Arcy James as Shrek, Tony Award® winner Sutton Foster as Princess Fiona, Tony Award® nominee Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad, Tony Award® nominee Daniel Breaker as Donkey and Tony Award® nominee John Tartaglia as Pinocchio.

Shrek The Musical is an entirely new musical based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as theDreamworks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series.
