Kris Jenner, mother of reality TV star Kim Kardashian, appeared on NBC's TODAY show this morning to set the record straight about her daughter's recent announcement of an impending divorce. While on the morning show, Jenner also promoted her upcoming book,"Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian," yet she also wanted to make it clear that her daughter's marriage to basketball star Kris Humphries was not a sham.
"It makes me feel sad that some people are reacting that way," Jenner told TODAY show host Ann Curry. "It certainly wasn't a sham, certainly wasn't for TV. We have enough going on on our show that we don't have to make things up. She felt that she was in love with him. It was an amazing time ... I had no idea there was a problem at the time. It saddens all of us."
Jenner also set the record straight over the circulating story that E! paid a reported $17.9 million for the rights to broadcast the wedding on their network. "One of the rumors is that we sold the television rights for millions of dollars - not true. We profited, she profited from the wedding? Absolutely false," Jenner maintained.
However, Jenner continued to remain vague when asked exactly how much money the couple did earn from the marital event.
