Good news - Hamilton's digital lottery is officially continuing on from winter, meaning that fans can enter online daily for a chance to see one of Broadway's biggest hits. Better news - this means that digital #Ham4Ham is also happening, featuring surprise performances from the cast. Today's video features the coronation of new 'King George' Rory O'Malley (who started performances in HAMILTON on Monday) by former ruler Jonathan Groff. Check it out below!
O'Malley was last seen on Broadway singing "Turn It Off" as Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon, for which he received Tony and Drama Desk nominations, and in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Off-Broadway credits include Nobody Loves You (Drama Desk nomination) and Little Miss Sunshine. Television credits include "Partners" alongside Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence, "Nurse Jackie," "The Good Wife," "Law & Order: SVU," "1600 Penn" and the film Dreamgirls.
The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehlerand music direction and orchestrations byAlex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired byRon Chernow's biography "Alexander Hamilton."
