When she makes her debut in December 2009, Royal Caribbean International's newest ship, Oasis of the Seas, will introduce the most unique and varied collection of entertainment and activities ever offered for guests of the global cruise line. From Broadway shows and heart-pounding diving and acrobatic exhibitions, to side-splitting comedy acts and popular theme nights and parades, the world's largest and most revolutionary cruise ship will truly offer something to entertain all ages, interests and personalities. One of the big premieres on the boat will be John Tartaglia's Imaginocean!
Press note describe "Imaginocean" as; "Tony award nominee John Tartaglia has done it again and created a magical black-light puppet show. Three best friends who just happen to be fish: Tank, Bubbles and Dorsal, are playing a game of bubble ball when the ball floats away bumping into some coral. A treasure map is revealed! Our trio of friends have to find three medals on their way searching for the treasure! As they search the ocean for clues they meet a whole bunch of new friends including jellyfish, seahorse and an octopus-not to mention everyone in our audience! John Tartaglia's Imaginocean! is jam packed with fun, magic and music ranging from R&B to Big Band. In the end, our friends all learn that the greatest treasure of all is the gift of friendship."
John Tartaglia was last seen on Broadway as "Pinocchio" in "Shrek: The Musical." He is the creator, executive producer and star of The Playhouse Disney series, "Johnny and the Sprites." John is best known for his Tony Nominated star turn as "Rod" and "Princeton" in the Tony Award Winning Musical "Avenue Q," having originated the roles Off Broadway. Prior to "Shrek," he was most recently seen on Broadway starring as "Lumiere" in Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."
A 10-year veteran of "Sesame Street," Tartaglia is one of the youngest puppeteers ever to perform on the show, starting at 16. In addition, he starred in Sesame Workshop's innovative English as a Foreign Language project, "Sesame English," which currently airs worldwide. Tartaglia has also appeared on Disney Channel's "Bear in the Big Blue House". Off Broadway and in concert, John has appeared in "Carnival" at City Center's "Encores!"; "Children of Eden" and "Pippin" in World AIDS Day benefit concerts; and at Manhattan Theater Club, Merkin Concert Hall and recently, a debut at Carnegie Hall.
