Last night, October 11, Broadway's Tony Award-winning hit musical CHICAGO and Givenik.com presented a special performance and post-show reception to benefit the four favorite charities of current leading-lady Kara DioGuardi -- Phoenix House (phoenixhouse.org), Columbus Citizens Foundation (columbuscitizensfd.org), Malaria No More (malarianomore.org) and Sister Domingas and Friends Foundation (sisterdomingas.org). A portion of sales from all tickets sold for the October 11 benefit performance were donated to the charity of the purchasers choice. In addition, the first 40 people who purchase full-priced tickets the performance gained admission to a special post-show reception and meet-n-greet with Kara DioGuardi and the CHICAGO cast at E&E Grill House.
Currently making her Broadway stage debut in the role of Roxie Hart, Kara DioGuardi was introduced to America on seasons 9 and 10 of the hit FOX show "American Idol." She is also an established record producer, record executive, music publisher, author and TV producer. As Executive Vice President at Warner Brothers Records, Kara has signed artists like Jason Derulo and Iyaz. Her publishing company, Arthouse Entertainment, boasts hits from Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Eminem, B.O.B., Travie McCoy, Flo Rida, Whitney Houston and Sean Kingston.
As one of the most successful contemporary songwriters and music executives in the world, Kara's songs have appeared on more than 159 million albums; she's had 310 songs released by major labels; and enjoyed over 50 charting singles and 150 songs on platinum selling albums.
