As part of her appearance on 60 Minutes to promote her new album, Encore, Barbra Streisand recently visited her former Funny Girl dressing room at the Winter Garden Theater. At the time, the dressing room was occupied by School of Rock star Sierra Boggess, who departed the newest Andrew Lloyd Webber musical earlier this month to star in a Paris production of Phantom of the Opera.
Boggess had outfitted the room with photos of Streisand and even a prayer candle, effectively creating a shrine to the Broadway legend. Before leaving, Streisand left Boggess a note thanking her for the tribute and expressing her appreciation of Boggess' talents. The end of the video shows Boggess returning to find Streisand's card and lighting her prayer candle before that evening's School of Rock performance.
With the longest span of number one albums in history, Streisand has recorded 52 gold, 31 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums in her career. She is the only woman to make the All-Time Top 10 Best Selling Artists list, an honor which includes fellow duet partners Elvis Presleyand Billy Joel. Streisand also has the longest span of number one albums in history, just under 50 years.
