The Living Room for Artists Inc / Summer Play Festival (SPF) and The Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre, and Broadcasting (MOFTB) will present its fourth panel -- examining producing, how to get a show on the stage, and an audience in the seats -- on December 9.

Titled "Producing 101: How to get a show up – and an audience in", the panel is designed for aspiring producers. The panel will be moderated by Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. Panelists are Broadway and off-Broadway casting professionals, including Sharon Fallon (Independent Producer and co-Chair of the League of American Theatres and Producers' New Producers Alliance), Chad Beckim and Molly Pearson (co-Founders and Producers of the Partial Comfort Theatre Company), Seth Goldstein (Producer and General Manager of The Splinter Group) and Victor Lario (Chief Artistic and Producing Officer of the Diverse City Theater Company).

The free panel will take place at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, at 410 West 42nd Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues) on December 9 from 10:00am-11:30am. Guests should RSVP to message@film.nyc.gov by December 7.

This panel is the fourth in a series of four addressing careers in theatre management, theatrical production and support, and acting. The first three panels in the series examined "Careers in Theatre Management," "Careers Backstage," and "Actors and the Casting Process".

"New York City is the proud home of the finest creative minds in the theatre world," Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting said. "Producers choose to start their shows in New York because of our rich and talented entertainment community, including creators who work in both theatre and film and television. This panel will address how artistic minds looking to get their or another playwright's words on stage, which contributes so greatly to our local culture and economy."
