The cast of Broadway's THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE will present two adults only performances on Sunday, January 21st and Sunday, March 4th at 7:30 p.m. Due to the overwhelming success of last year's adult nights and the fact that the students of Putnam County can no longer be kept g-rated, the show will offer a much anticipated, completely rewritten and all-risqué version of the Tony Award-winning musical. Leave your children at home with the sitter and come get an education of your own from the kids who know how to spell "D-I-R-T-Y."

Overheard at last year's adult night:

PHILODENDRON
Definition: A plant of the aram family cultivated for its showy foliage.
Sentence: After seeing the overgrown philodendron in the garden, Mr. Johnson encouraged his wife to trim her bush.

THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is the Tony Award-winning musical with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman and directed by James Lapine. A hilariously hip musical comedy, SPELLING BEE features six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learning that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. The Broadway production of SPELLING BEE opened on May 2, 2005 before launching a national tour in September of 2006 and an open-ended engagement in Chicago in March of 2006.

Tickets for the adults only nights are on-sale now at all regular prices. Due to the mature material and politically incorrect humor, no one under the age 16 will be admitted.

Tickets for SPELLING BEE are available through Telecharge, (212) 239-6200 or www.telecharge.com, or by visiting the Circle in the Square Theatre box office (1633 Broadway). Tickets prices are $95.00 and $50.00. Premium seating is available.
