Tickets are $10 and doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Watch a trailer of the show here: https://vimeo.com/199360150
More about SOAP and The Messy Show:
"The Messy Show" made its debut in September 2015 at a secret outdoor space in Williamsburg with the promise of featuring "all bits too messy to do indoors." It quickly gained an impressive following and the group hosted two more performances in summer of 2016. Early shows included performances from popular sketch group Murderfist, Sandy Honig and Alyssa Stonoha ("Three Busy Debras"), Eric Yearwood, Annie Donley, Matthew Liner, and of course, SOAP. Highlights included a Star Wars fanboy ejaculating from excitement via a fire extinguisher contraption in his clothes, a wet T-shirt eating contest, a motor oil shower, and a giant ice cream sundae.
"The Messy Show" has been featured on Bedford + Bowery and Comedy Cake, and has been called "raw and wriggly" and "a gem." The idea to move the show indoors felt like a natural next step for the group, who felt that the show shouldn't be limited to exclusive outdoor venues and warm weather.
SOAP, the hosts and creators of "The Messy Show", are a sketch group made up of Andrew Benedict, Ben Hosley, Erin Coughlin an Joel Straley. They perform regularly at The Annoyance Theater, Upright Citizens Brigade, The PIT, and Union Hall. SOAP has performed at NYC Sketch Fest and Philly Sketch Fest. Their Brooklyn Public Access TV show won the BRIC Arts Media B Artistic Award in 2015, and they've been featured on Funny or Die, Comedy Cake, Huffington, Post, UCB's Channel 101, and Red Hot Video Fun Time.
