Since its founding in 1992, SITI Company has redefined contemporary theater in the United States through an innovative approach to collaboration, cultural exchange, and actor training. With the idea of the ensemble as its bedrock, SITI has served as a creative home for a core group of artists: ten actors, four designers, the director Anne Bogart, and a stunning list of international collaborators. Working together, SITI has not only reimagined what is possible both on and off the stage, but, more broadly, what it means to be a global artist in the new millennium.
On Monday, November 10, SITI Company and its three co-artistic directors (Bogart, Leon Ingulsrud and
Ellen Lauren) will honor
Jon Jory at its 2014 Autumn Benefit. As the longtime Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville, Jory founded the influential Humana Festival of New American Plays, which celebrates the art of the American playwright. In addition to exerting an enormous impact on the American theater landscape over the past decades, Jory also generously helped SITI Company to come into its own during its early years. Since 1995, the Actors Theatre of Louisville has presented SITI Company in 12 different productions.
The 2014 Autumn Benefit will take place at New York Live Arts (219 West 19th Street) in Manhattan and will begin at 6:30pm with cocktails. At 7:30pm, SITI Company members will perform scenes from classic SITI repertoire including bobrauchenbergamerican, The Medium and Cabin Pressure. An after party with the Company will begin at 8:30pm and go until 11:00pm. Tickets - priced at $50, $150 and $250 - can be purchased by contacting Development & Communications Manager, Alexandra Lalonde at
