"Siren's Den: A New Rock Musical," will be presenting songs from the show at Theater Row's Acorn Theater, sponsored by the New York New Work's Theatre Festival on September 5th at 7pm.
Siren's Den is a cautionary tale about the blindness of love, the emptiness of fame, and the healing powers of music.
The rock musical was previously seen at the West Village Musical Theater Festival, at Under St. Mark's, in the 2016 NYNW Theatre Festival (semi-finalist), and was produced last year as an Equity showcase at the Gene Frankel Theater by Miller-Coffman Productions.
The cast for this Off-Broadway presentation features writer/creator Rori Nogee (Showgirls, the Musical!) as rock star Skylar Cole, Joyah Love Spangler(The Bad Years) as Remy, Corbin Williams(Cinderella National Tour) as Logan, Rosie Barker as Jessie and Reggie Herold (Alex and Eugene) as Garrett. The team includes director Dennis Corsi, musical director Ricky Romano, lighting designer Joe D'Emilio and stage manager Margo Murphy-Gross.
The evening will include an array of other plays and musicals from the festival. Tickets can be purchased at www.nynwtheatrefestival.com
The Siren's Den demo can be downloaded on iTunes and CDBaby.com. Visit www.sirensdenthemusical.com for more information.
Siren's Den is a dark, modern twist on the myth of the ancient Greek sirens who lured sailors to their deaths with their songs. Here, the turbulent sea is the music industry, and the siren is Skylar Cole, a seductive indie rock singer in NYC.
Skylar's biggest fan is Remy Morgan, a young, aspiring singer who finds that her songwriting is fueled by her time spent with Skylar. Soon, Remy finds herself drawn into a world of drugs, lust and empty promises, where some idols don't deserve pedestals and some dreams come with dire consequences.
Will Remy find success? Or will she fall prey to Skylar's siren song forever?
