What do you get when your child gets a bit of learning combined with lots of fun? A "happy camper" after a week at the Staten Island Zoo's SUMMER ZOOFARI CAMP! The Staten Island Zoo is ready for this year's SUMMER ZOOFARI CAMP and there is still room at the Zoo for youngsters to join the fun.
New campers and returning campers are in for a treat as this summer the Zoo will have MANY new animals to encounter. For forms, registration information and Zoofari weeks and themes visit statenislandzoo.org or call 718-442-3174.
Zoofari starts June 27 and runs weekly through August 26.
Each camp session lasts a week (but you can sign up for more than one week as each week is a different theme) and focuses on a particular theme. Themes include: Talk to the Animals; WarmUp/Cool Down; Alien Invaders; Going, Going, Gone; Oh Baby!; What Nice Teeth You Have and more. Campers interact with animals, tour the facilities, participate in arts and crafts activities, and join in some "wild" animal games, plus so much more! Zoofari campers range from Pre-K to 9th grade.
Camp Hours are: Pre-K-3rd grade, 9 a.m.-1pm; 4,5,and 6th grade, 9a.m.-3pm and 7,8, and 9thgrade (Counselor in Training), 8 a.m-4pm.What's new with Zoofari for 2011? There are new animals to meet. There is a July 4th week discount. And..... for siblings, a discount when siblings register for the same week.
