SI Zoo Hosts SPOOKTACULAR, Previews 10/28

It's all hands on deck at the Staten Island Zoo! From the staff to the docents to even Staten Island Chuck (celebrities can pitch in too!), everyone is working hard once again to present you and your family and friends with the greatest Halloween celebration in town!

One of the most popular events at the Staten Island Zoo, Spooktacular, is filled with Halloween fun for your whole family. This event has has something for everyone - the brave and the faint of heart. The Zoo is truly transformed into a Halloween wonderland.

Halloween-themed exhibits include ALIEN ZOO in the Zoo's African Savannah Wing. Alien sightings are already being reported in from outer galaxies and the Zoo fully expects some creatures to land right in our African Savannah exhibit on the night of SPOOKTACULAR. Hope the leopards don't mind that?

Live shows will be performed throughout the event including one show in which
SPOOKTACULAR guests will be invited to a tea party by who else but, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, herself. Get ready to step into Alice's world when you enter the Zoo's tent that night. Tip - beware of the big mushrooms and possibly a few teacups! AdditionAl Halloween performances include a show by students from Susan Wagner High School, titled, CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, and a mini Sweeney Todd performance. The Children's Center will be the "not so scary" place to be where children can enjoy entertainment from a child-friendly musician. There may just be a few kid-friendly, playful costumed characters looking to say hello and take pictures with the little ones.

Visitors can stroll through the Houses of Harry Potter, a life-size Candyland game, and our popular KOOKY CARNIVAL where every kids plays and wins a prize. Your family can also enter our Costume contest, visit Buck the "talking deer," as well as experience many other areas of areas of entertainment, including crafts, storytelling, games such as a Wheel of Fortune, and even participate in a game of ZOO FAMILY FEUD - all families are welcome to sign up and play!

TICKETS ARE LIMITED. ADVANCED PURCHASE ONLY! NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE EVENT.

Tkts: Non-Members $16, Members $13. Zoo members can begin purchasing their tickets on Oct. 4th and non-member sales begin on Oct. 12th.

If you can't purchase your tickets during these daytime hours.....

New this year, members may purchase tickets at the Broadway Entrance Booth Tuesday, October 5th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and everyone may purchase tickets Tuesday, October 12th and the 19th at this same location between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
