Christmas Letters premiered this fall in a full production by Forum Theatre Co., in Wichita, Kan., with the initial run just extended through Dec. 18. The show features book, lyrics and additional music by Paul Cozby and music by Laura Bergquist (musical director of Broadway's Allegiance). Nick Demos (Tony-winning producer of Memphis) directs.

Here's how producers describe Christmas Letters:

Have you ever written or received a Christmas letter tucked

into a card, attached to an email or posted on Facebook?

Did you ever feel secretly superior or infinitely inferior as you

read the laundry list of annual accomplishments of your closest

friends and distant relatives?

Does the holiday season ever leave you feeling besieged, befuddled and bewildered? Tied up in ribbons and wrapped up in bows? Overwrought, overspent and over it? Indecisively insane and insanely inadequate?

Then this hilarious new musical is for you!

Christmas Letters covers it all from the first card to arrive in the mail through Black Friday blues, funky family portraits, unassembled toys, silly sibling rivalries and harried, gift-hunting husbands. But don't worry, it all ends well . . . after all it's Christmas!

The concert is Friday, Dec. 16, 8 p.m., at Metro Baptist Church, 410 W. 40th St., and benefits Stomping Ground Theatre Co.-a non-profit theatre creating a home away from home for the socially conscious.

  • And YOU-our audience, who understands there can be more than just sitting back and being entertained.
