Saatchi Art, the world's leading online art gallery, today announced the shortlist for this year's New Sensations Prize, widely regarded as the most important annual prize for emerging artists in the U.K. The 25 shortlisted artists will show their work in the New Sensations exhibition in London opening on October 13th.

Launched in 2007 by Rebecca Wilson, chief curator of Saatchi Art, New Sensations supports the most imaginative and talented graduates from BA and MA courses across the U.K. and Republic of Ireland and presents their work to an international audience each year during Frieze Week. The New Sensations 2014 winner, chosen by judges and announced in October, will be awarded a cash prize to fund a studio for a year.

This year's judges are gallery founder and curator Ceri Hand, renowned artist Tom Hunter, arts writer Jessica Lack, Bloomberg New Contemporaries director Kirsty Ogg, and Saatchi Art chief curator Rebecca Wilson.

Absolut returns for a third year as the key partner with Saatchi Art on New Sensations. Absolut has chosen 3 artists from the shortlist of 25 to make a new work in response to the iconic Absolut bottle. The 3 artists are: Felicity Hammond, Emily Motto, and Jessica Ramm. Their new commissions exploring the theme of transformation will also be shown at the New Sensations exhibition.

In addition to the New Sensations exhibition on view during Frieze Week, all the entries will be exhibited on Saatchi Art (www.saatchiart.com). Those unable to attend the show in London can discover some of the UK's most promising emerging artists online at saatchiart.com/newsensations.

The New Sensations exhibition, held every October, is recognized as a not-to-miss art event during Frieze Week in London, offering collectors an unparalleled opportunity to see the most exciting emerging art from across the U.K. The New Sensations 2014 exhibition will take place at B1, Victoria House, Bloomsbury, London WC1, in a 22,000-square-foot venue exclusively represented by Location House. An online exhibition will also be available for viewing atsaatchiart.com/newsensations.
