Ryan Reynolds Exchanged Broadway for Parenthood; Broadway's 'On the Bucket List'

Ryan Reynolds has wanted to be on Broadway for a long time, and he's pretty sure his stand-up comic past has prepared him.

The DEADPOOL actor recently revealed that he was supposed to make his Broadway debut this past season, but adult responsibilities won out over a childhood dream. His wife, GOSSIP GIRL's Blake Lively became pregnant, and they decided he should decline the offered role in a "revival set in the '40s."

"It still might happen. I would love it. I've always had a propensity to play to the back row so I think it would be a good fit. It's on the bucket list."

The Hollywood heart-throb also revealed that before he became Ryan Reynolds the Famous and Gorgeous, his first big performance job was in comedy.

"I started performing on stage in front of a live audience as an improv comedian. I moved to L.A. to join (comedy troupe) The Groundlings. The best job I ever had was doing the sitcom 'Two Guys, A Girl, And a Pizza' in front of a live audience. I would do the warmup stand-up routine for the audience and it was fun! That job was 15 years ago but it was a dream."

Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian actor. He portrayed Michael Bergen on the ABC sitcom Two Guys and a Girl (1998-2001), Billy Simpson in the YTV Canadian teen soap opera Hillside (1991-1993), as well as Marvel Comics characters HANNIBAL King in Blade: Trinity (2004) and Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and the upcoming spin-off film Deadpool (2016).

Reynolds has starred in films such as National Lampoon's Van Wilder, Definitely, Maybe, The Proposal, The Amityville Horror, The Change-Up, Smokin' Aces, Buried, and Safe House. He also portrayed the Hal Jordan version of the DC Comics superhero Green Lantern in the film of the same name (2011), and has made cameos in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, Ted and A Million Ways to Die in the West.
