Some of the nicest kids in town will be taking to the stage at Joe's Pub on September 19th when members of the cast of Hairspray presents "Mullets Over Broadway" as part of BroadwayWorld's Front and Center Series.

Among the talented cast for the evening are Jennifer Gambatese, John Jeffrey Martin, Chester Gregory, Michelle Kittrell, and Leslie Goddard, all of whom sat down for a few moments to share their thoughts about the upcoming concert.

"Mullets Over Broadway" will showcase the talents in ways never seen before. "Anything will go at this concert." Says Michelle Kittrell. "We have a very eclectic group of people who make up the cast of Hairspray and more than anything, people will see everyone's true personality. And while the show should be entertaining, people should come b/c it's a fundraiser for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights Aids. That is the most important reason of them all!

Jennifer Gambatese (the current Penny Pingleton) adds, "the audience can expect a fun filled evening featuring a variety of musical styles."

"I find that it's always very interesting when performers share their own stories thru their music." says current Seaweed J. Stubbs, Chester Gregory. "I'm Looking forward to hearing the other performers sing - I know that it'll give me a chance to see other sides of my co-workers & friends."

While the full set list is going to be a surprise, the audience will be treated to Jennifer and Michelle singing "What You Don't Know About Women" from City of Angels. "It was the first Broadway show I ever saw and that song is such a great number – especially to sing with a good girlfriend like Michelle" Jenn shared. Michelle adds, "I wasn't very familiar with the song, but when Jennifer and I were deciding on duets, I LOVED the title!"

Another number to look forward is Chester's "Run & Tell That – the Remix".

John Jeffrey Martin will be one of the people singing original material during the evening. "A lot people are singing a huge variety of songs. Some people are singing originals (like myself) that have never been performed before. Other people are singing show tunes. I can't wait. It's going to be great for the cast to finish with a week of shows on Sunday the 19th, and then go and put on a totally unique show in another part of town. We all love to do this so much."

Leslie Goddard chose her song "because I think it's funny. It's a bluesy country piece that's a lot of fun to sing. I thin this concert will be fun for people in the audience because they will see us as who we are rather than the character we play in the show. That's what I am most excited about with this concert. It'll be fun for me to see my fellow cast members in a different light, too."

Michelle adds, "as with most Broadway casts, this one is incredibly talented. I'm most excited about supporting the cast members who write and perform their own music. It is such a gift. And also, I adore Jenn. We are great friends and it will be wonderful to just be silly on the stage together."

"It's always very inspiring to see your cast mates perform outside of the show you're in" says Jenn,  "especially when they're performing original material. You realize how multi-talented your friends are and how one day you'll be telling people, 'I knew them back before they were famous!'"
