According to the UK's The Telegraph, St. James Palace has announced that Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant. The royal family decided to confirm the news when the Duchess was admitted to the hospital over the weekend with a case of "acute morning sickness". It is believed that she has not yet reached the 12-week mark of her pregnancy.
According to the report, the 30-year-old Middleton is suffering from "hyperemesis gravidarum" and needed to be given , extra fluids and nutrition. She is most likely to stay in the hospital for the next sererval days.
A spokesman for St James's Palace said: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby."The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very Early Stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."
David Cameron, who was told the news shortly before it was made public, tweeted: "I’m delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby. They will make wonderful parents."
The baby, whether a boy or girl, will become the third in line to inherit the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William.
