Morphic Resonance by Katherine Burger directed by Carol M. Rice will have auditions Monday, August 30 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED!
For an appointment time, please email audition09@roverdramawerks.com

Auditions will be at Rover Dramawerks' new office space, 521 J Place, Suite 629,
between Plano Parkway and the Bush Turnpike, a half block west of Avenue K.

Brief Synopsis:
Cleome, an acerbic New York writer, finds banter easier than love, whether with her father or her noncommittal lover, Wallace. While Cleome's and Wallace's relationship flounders, their best friends Alice and Jim fall head over heels. Alice's diagnosis with cancer sets in sharp contrast the things we fear and the things we fear to lose. Both comical and moving, Morphic Resonance is a classic metaphor for learning that which may be impossible to know as individuals. Rover is pleased to bring back this critical and audience favorite!

Roles:
Cleome: late 20s to late 30s. An attractive, sophisticated New York writer. She comes from money and doesn't really understand the real world of "work." Enjoys witty conversation and fears commitment, despite the fact that she wants to be loved. Is not close to her father.

Wallace: late 20s to late 30s. Cleome's male counterpart. He is also a writer, currently working in publishing to pay the bills. He has an unofficial "list" of what he's looking for in a woman and fights the fact that Cleome fits it perfectly.

Alice: late 20s to late 30s. A former dancer who is Cleome's best friend. She has been scarred from a bad relationship and doesn't want to get hurt again, so falling in love with Jim comes as a complete shock to her. Finds out she has cancer.

Jim: late 20s to late 30s. Wallace's best friend. He is a computer geek and a "man's man." Like Alice, he has been hurt before and isn't looking for a relationship so his fierce love for her is a surprise to him, too. Loves telling bad jokes.

Daddy: 50s+. Cleome's father. He enjoys the finer things in life (especially his 80 year old scotch) and has never understood his daughter. A former business tycoon who enjoys playing on his intimidating persona, yet is human deep down after all.

All roles are available.
