The New York Times reports that the Roundabout Theater Company will be re-opening the 89-year-old, 1,000 seat Henry Miller's Theater on 43rd Street in the fall of 2008. The company is in the final stages of negotiations with Bank of America and the Durst Organization (whose co-president, Douglas Durst, is on Roundabout's Board) for a 20-year lease. While the Theater will undergo a $30 million renovation, there are no plans to change its name.
The Roundabout currently owns or leases the American Airlines Theater on 42nd Street, Studio 54 on 54th Street, and the Off-Broadway Laura Pels Theater, part of the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theater, on 46th Street.
