Roundabout Theatre-PLUS will begin its 15th year with a "Theatre Enhancement Series."

"Roundabout Theare Company recognized over a decade ago that it wasn't enough to provide quality theatre to the New York community.  There was a desire to meet the changing needs of the community.  Beginning in 1992, Roundabout created an innovative marketing program designed to enhance the theatre-going experience for Roundabout subscribers as well as attract new audiences," according to press materials.

Theatre-PLUS features the following series scheduled throughout Roundabout's theatrical season: Celebrity series, Early Curtain series, Family Club, Gay and Lesbian series, Lecture series, Sign Interpreted series, Social series, Teacher's Night, Wine Tasting series.

The Theatre-PLUS Singles Series was introduced during the 1992-1993 season and quickly attracted a new audience to Roundabout's productions.  Theatre-PLUS and the Singles series expanded in February 1993 to include the Gay and Lesbian Singles series.  Later that same year, additional series were created, including the Wine Tasting, Early Curtain, Celebrity and Lecture series.  More recently, the Single series has evolved into a more inclusive subscriber event called the Social series.

Today, Roundabout's Theatre-PLUS program boasts over 6,500 loyal participants.

Additional audience development programs at Roundabout include HIPTIX (www.hiptix.com) a low cost ticket alternative targeting young professionals 18 – 35 years old and "Theatre Talks"– a weekly pre-show discussion open to all ticket holders.   Hiptix is sponsored by Time Out New York.

"Roundabout's mission has remained consistent for 41 years.  At the very heart of the not-for-profit company is a commitment to re-energize classic plays and musicals by teaming great theatrical works with the industry's finest artists.  In 1995, Roundabout expanded its mission to include new works by today's great writers.  An equally important core value of the organization is its dedication to providing the highest possible level of customer service to its audience.  Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable state-of-the-art venues, and audience enrichment programs, such as Theatre-PLUS, are all an integral part of the Roundabout experience.

Roundabout Theatre Company is one of the country's leading not-for-profit theatres.  The company contributes invaluably to New York's cultural life by staging the highest quality revivals of classic plays and musicals as well as new plays by established writers. Roundabout consistently partners great artists with great works to bring a fresh and exciting interpretation that makes each production relevant and important to today's audiences."
