Roundabout Theatre Company presents the world premiere of The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin by Steven Levenson, directed by Scott Ellis. The cast will include Christopher Denham as "James Durnin," Lisa Emery as "Karen Brown-Canedy", Sarah Goldberg as "Katie Nicholson," David Morse as "Tom Durnin," and Rich Sommer as "Chris Wyatt".

Performances begin tonight, May 31, 2013 and opening night is June 27, 2013 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through August 25, 2013.

The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (Sets), Jeff Mahshie (Costumes), Donald Holder (Lights), and Obadiah Eaves (Original Music & Sound).

From playwright Steven Levenson (Roundabout's acclaimed The Language of Trees) comes this funny, raw and moving world premiere about the price we pay for defaulting on those we love. Tom Durnin did the time for his white-collar crime. Now, he's determined to win back the respect he believes he deserves-even if that means ripping apart the new life his family has so carefully put together in his absence. Tom's son warily allows his father to camp out on his couch, hoping the man who let everyone 2

down has finally turned a new page. After a lifetime of empty promises, can Tom find a place in a family that has worked so hard to move on without him?

Levenson's play The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin is part of Roundabout's New Play Initiative, a collection of programs designed to foster and produce new work by emerging and established artists. The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin was commissioned by Roundabout Theatre Company following Levenson's New York debut with The Language of Trees in 2008 at Roundabout Underground.

Scott Ellis, Roundabout Theatre Company's Adams Associate Artistic Director, recently directed Roundabout's acclaimed productions of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Harvey. Roundabout welcomes back Christopher Denham who was last seen in "Master Harold"...and the Boys in 2003, Sarah Goldberg who appeared in Look Back in Anger in 2012, Lisa Emery who was last on the Pels stage in Distracted in 2009 and Rich Sommer who made his Broadway debut in Harvey last summer.

Tickets are available online at roundabouttheatre.org, by phone at (212) 719-1300, or in person at the Laura Pels Box Office (111 West 46th Street). Tickets prices range from $71 - $81.

The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin will play Tuesday through Saturday evening at 7:30PM with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00PM.

Major support for The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin is provided by The Laura Pels International Foundation for Theater. Partial underwriting support is provided by Peggy and Mark Ellis, Stacey and Eric Mindich, and K. Myers.
