Roulette presents Tim Berne's More Snakeoil on Friday, June 28 at 8pm. More Snakeoil, an extension of Berne's highly acclaimed 2012 ECM release Snakeoil, see's Berne introducing music written for a new octet as well as some "extreme reworkings" of recent, smaller ensemble works.
Snakeoil is comprised of Ches Smith, Oscar Noriega and Matt Mitchell, More Snakeoil will, over 2 different sets, incorporate Erik Friedlander, Ryan Ferreira, Trevor Dunn, Herb Robertson and Mat Maneri into the mix.Set 1:

Saxophonist Tim Berne has composed and performed prolifically since the 1980s. Berne was recently ranked in the Top 10 of Time Out New York's "Essential NYC Jazz Icons". Tim Berne's "More Snake Oil" is funded in part through New Music USA's MetLife Creative Connections Program.
