Amas Musical Theatre's Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present the musical "Seussical", book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, from Friday, May 3rd through Sunday May 13th the LABA Theatre at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14thStreet (between 1st and 2nd Avenues). 

"Seussical" is the Broadway hit that features some of the most favorite tales from the pen of Dr. Seuss. "We're thrilled to be showcasing the talents of our wonderful students in this exceptional musical", says Amas Artistic Producer Donna Trinkoff. "Not only is it a great family show, it re-introduces us to some of the most memorable characters of childhood, including The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, and the Grinch".

Amas Musical Theatre's Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy offers pre-professional performing arts training to students age 14-20 from throughout the New York area. It began in the early 1970s as the Eubie Blake Youth Theatre and is now the flagship education program of Amas, which specializes in the professional development and production of new musicals, the celebration of diversity and minority perspectives, and the training and encouragement of under-served young people. Classes in singing, dancing, acting, and the business of theatre are taught by Working Theatre professionals, and culminate in a fully-staged Off-Off-Broadway production. Recent seasons have included "Damn Yankees", "The Pajama Game", and "No No Nanette".

The creative team includes director Christopher Scott ("For Lovers Only", "Golf: The Musical!", "Nancy Friday's My Secret Garden", "The Broadway Kids"),music direction by Shaina Taub, choreography by Monica Celeste Johnson ("The Broadway Kids") costumes by Dustin Cross, and set design by Josh Iacovelli.

Performs: May 4-6 and May 11-13, 2012

Fridays at 7:30, Saturdays at 3:00 and 7:30, and Sundays at 3:00
