Carrington recorded eight major record label comedy albums selling over three million copies. Morning Wood was certified Gold and Greatest Hits was certified Platinum by the RIAA. He starred in his own television sitcom, Rodney, which ran for two seasons on ABC and co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film Beer for My Horses.

According to Pollstar, Carrington has been one of the top ten highest grossing touring comedians for the last ten years and he regularly performs to sold-out crowds across the U.S. and Canada. He also co-starred in the hit music video by Trace Adkins, "I Got My Game On", which won three awards on the 2008 CMT Music Video Awards, including his role as "Supporting Character," as well as "Male Video of the Year" and "Video Director of the Year."

Make it Christmas was his first Christmas project, as well as his first serious music release that features beautiful traditional tunes and new classics, while his comedy sketch music video, "If I'm the Only One" premiered on CMT in April 2009. In 2010, his family formed the Rodney Carrington Foundation to benefit those who need a helping hand.
