MSG Entertainment announced today, in celebration of The Rockettes ®  episode on Project Runway™, that premiered September 20 at 9PM ET on Lifetime, that Rockettes fans will have the opportunity to create their own interpretation of a glamorous costume for the beloved icons on Facebook as part of "The Project Runway Rockettes Design Challenge." The contest launched on The Rockettes Facebook and run through Friday, October 26. Weekly fan favorites will be voted on and placed in the running for one lucky winner to receive the ultimate grand prize: a trip to New York Fashion Week, VIP tickets to a Project Runway finale show, a $2,500 Chase gift card and the opportunity to meet the iconic Rockettes!

As part of the tenth anniversary season of Project Runway, the designers headed to the legendary Radio City Music Hall and met the iconic New York dance company, The Rockettes.  Designers had to create a costume for The Rockettes to wear for an upcoming performance, for the episode "Get a Kick out of Fashion." Actress Debra Messing was the guest judge alongside the panel of Project Runway's resident judges, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

"We are excited to launch "The Project Runway Rockettes Design Challenge," by giving our fans the opportunity to get creative and engage with The Rockettes like never before surrounding the legendary dancers upcoming episode and design challenge on Project Runway," said Chris Moseley, senior vice president product management and brand oversight, Rockettes. "Fans will have the chance to experience the same challenge on Facebook that the Project Runway designers were tasked with by creating a Rockettes costume through digital applications that include all the materials imaginable to construct a show-stopping costume.  Additionally, throughout the design process, fans will be able unlock special applications that will include access to view exciting behind-the-scenes Rockettes Project Runway content."

Participants will be able to see their creative visions come to life with all the design tools they can imagine and join the Challenge online.  A variety of digital design applications for the costume will be available to choose from including a vibrant color palette selection, bold fabrics, bodice and skirt textures, shoes and glamorous accessories. Additionally, Rockettes fans can join the challenge by encouraging their friends and family to take part and vote through sharing applications on their social accounts as well as incorporating the hashtag #ROXtheRunway.

As part of The Rockettes heritage, they continue to be seen as inspirational role models who have all achieved their lifelong dream of becoming a Rockette through hard work, determination, dedication and dreaming big. Project Runway shares these same core values that the designers endure, the hard work, dynamism and dreaming big for chance to launch their careers in fashion and showcase their designs at the famed New York fashion week.

Known for their rich history, unrivaled talent, strength, precision and athleticism, The Rockettes are a legendary New York dance company. This year, The Rockettes celebrate 85 years of performing in New York City, commemorating a legacy spanning more than eight decades with dynamic performances and precision technique. The Rockettes innovative choreography and classic glamour has been beloved by millions of fans across the nation, as they have continually remained role models for generations of women.
