Roberts, Fiennes and More Among Tony Awards Presenters

Julia Roberts, Eric McCormack, and Ralph Fiennes have been announced as some of the presenters of the 60th Annual Tony Awards, which will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on June 11th from 8 to 11 PM.

Joining Roberts (Three Days of Rain), McCormack (Some Girl(s)) and Fiennes (Faith Healer) as presenters will be Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole), Martin Short (Fame Becomes Me), Alfre Woodard and Anna Paquin with more to be announced. A host has not yet been named for the Tonys.

The Tony Awards nominations were announced on May 16th. The Drowsy Chaperone led the pack of new musicals with thirteen nominations. Of the nominated new plays, the most nods (seven of them) went to The History Boys. Awake and Sing! and The Pajama Game topped the list for play and musical revival, respectively; the former scored eight nominations and the latter nine.

The 2006 Tony Awards are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Jed Bernstein is President. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2006 Tony Awards. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2006 Tony Awards.
