Internationally acclaimed jewelry designer Roberto Coin will greet fans and introduce many new, one-of-a-kind pieces in a rare public appearance at James Free Jewelers in Dayton, Ohio, on Thursday, November 1. The event, which will be Coin's only public appearance in the eastern United States during an upcoming business trip, is free and open to the public.

"We are honored that Roberto Coin plans to visit our store," said Michael Karaman, president of James Free Jewelers, one of the leading, independently owned fine jewelry retailers in the Midwest. "Mr. Coin is the top Italian designer globally. He sets the tone that the rest of the world follows, and his quality and craftsmanship is never outmatched."

Roberto Coin's jewelry is known for the distinctive, brilliant ruby incorporated into each piece, to touch the wearer's skin "for luck and love," according to tradition. Coin's designs are recognized for their many innovations, including:

  • The use of three-color and two-color gold.
  • The patented Cento 100 Facet Diamond, one of the most brilliantly cut diamonds available to consumers.
  • Romantic, playful designs inspired by chocolate, champagne and caviar.

"Fashion should enhance the personality of everybody," Coin said. "It is an art, but the art of being different, and should increase the ability of today's women to feel more comfortable in their own role."

Roberto Coin started his company in 1977 to manufacture high-end jewelry for such premium luxury brands as Cartier and Tiffany. The Roberto Coin brand was launched in 1996, and within four years had become one of the most-recognized jewelry brands in the world. The company currently produces more than 3,000 models ranging in price from $200 to $50,000, appealing to a wide range of customers.
