Robert Cavalli celebrated the opening of his new store in New Delhi with a huge party. The launch of this store also marks the opening of the first Cavalli Caffè outside of Italy and the beginning of expanding the Cavalli Caffè concept.

The 4,000-square-foot store opened a special offering for India: 100 bags made especially for the Indian market made of ostrich leather and python print in silver and gold, each in two different sizes. The prices range from 130,000 rupees ($2,386) to 165,000 rupees ($3,030).

"I do believe in the Indian market, and I love the taste for fashion of Indian people. They have a way to mix and match bright colors," Cavalli said at the launch.

Attending the glamorous opening were Bollywood actors Neha Dhupia and Zayed Khan among other celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Sushmita Sen and Kangana Ranaut.

The store carries both men's and women's collections, as well as accessories, eyewear and children's wear. Gianluca Brozzetti, chief executive officer of Cavalli, said that accessories always did well in India, as in the Middle East. "The men's wear market is also one that is exceptionally successful in India," said Brozzetti.

The next store in India will open in Mumbai mid-2013 with it's own special element - saris designed by Cavalli, he said. There will also be a café at the same location. Brozzetti said that the café in India was the start of global growth for the concept. The next Cavalli Caffé will be launched in Beirut.

The New Delhi café has entrances from both the boutique and the open atrium area of the Emporio mall. Other luxury stores in the mall include Gucci, Giorgio Armani and Ermenegildo Zegna. Menu options include items ranging from breakfast to after-dinner drinks.

"I wanted to transmit all my passion for beauty and sensuality in a hospitality project. I think India will become immediately a big fan of Cavalli Caffè," Cavalli remarked.
