Tony Award-nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde, Les Misérables) and Helen Hayes Award-winner Natascia Diaz (Broadway's Man of La Mancha, The Capeman, Seussical, Carousel) will headline the November 30th at 7pm performance of JACQUES BREL RETURNS...The Music of Brel, Blau, Shuman and Jouannest. Joining them in the cast will be Jim Stanek (Lestat, Little Women, ...Forum), Rick Hip-Flores (who has performed in the pits of Billy Elliot, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular) and Ereni Sevasti (The Bacchae at The Public, Carnival at The Kennedy Center). Rick Hip-Flores will also serve as musical director.
The production, which has been playing at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) for over a year, is an intimate and engaging cabaret version of the hit Off-Broadway production Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris and features a rotating cast of Broadway performers, performers from the 2006/2007 run at The Zipper, as well as occasional surprise guest performers.
JACQUES BREL RETURNS is presented by Dan Whitten, Mark Beigelman, Peter Martin and Tiger Theatricals. Originally created by Dan Whitten and Mark Beigelman (who produced the hit revival and CD in 2006/2007), the show features Jacques Brel favorites including "Carousel," "My Childhood," "If We Only Have Love," "Ne Mes Quitte Pas," "The Bulls," "Amsterdam" and "I Loved."
"Brel's music is timeless and our aim is to keep it going at The Triad" says producer Dan Whitten. "We just celebrated our one-year anniversary at The Triad will also be touring the show starting in the spring with Cleveland, where Brel saved the Playhouse Square Theatre back in the early 70's."
There is also a performance on November 16th at 7pm which will also star Robert Cuccioli, as well as Ereni Sevasti, Arlo Hill and David Wolfson.
JACQUES BREL RETURNS plays at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) each month, with the November 16th and 30th performances beginning at 7pm. Tickets, priced at $30 for general admission and $40 for premium seating, can be bought online at www.BrownPaperTickets.com or by phone at 800-838-3006.
