Rising Star Competition Announces Performers Advancing to Week 4

RISE BAR is seeking it's next RISING STAR! After a tremendously successful first season, Rise Bar's talent contest returns! The new summer installment will be on TUESDAY nights!

The RISING STAR competition began Tuesday August 2nd. Singers compete in an 8 week elimination style contest for a $1000 cash prize and a fully produced, paid solo show at Rise. In addition to the cash and prize package, RISING STAR offers networking opportunities with celebrity judges, fantastic exposure, and valuable live stage experience.

The top 12 finalists were chosen from over 60 auditionees. Last week they said goodbye to MELISSA and CAROLINE. Who will go home this week?

AUG 23rd Industry Judges:

Daisy Eagan
In 1991 Daisy won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Mary Lennox in THE SECRET GARDEN. She was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Actress in a Musical for the role. At eleven years old, she is the youngest female to win a Tony to date and is the second youngest person to win a Tony (Frankie Michaels was ten when he won his Tony for Mame). She recently appeared in the Manhattan Concert Productions presentation of THE SECRET GARDEN at David Geffen Hall as Martha. Her film work includes Losing Isaiah, Ripe, and Tony n' Tina's Wedding. She has appeared on television in episodes of Without a Trace, The Unit, Ghost Whisperer, and Numb3rs, among other shows.

Ben Rimalower
Ben is the author and original star of the long-running solo plays PATTI ISSUES and BAD WITH MONEY. He is a regular contributor to Playbill, Out, The Advocate, Decider, NewNowNext and Time Out New York, and currently recaps The Real Housewives of New Jersey for Vulture. Ben has worked extensively in New York and elsewhere as an actor and director and produces audiobooks for Simon & Schuster.

Rich Martino
Rich is a producer, director, and the Principal Talent Manager at Whole Artist Management. As a Producer, Rich currently holds an interest in the Broadway revival FIDDLER ON THE ROOF at The Broadway Theater. As a director he has helmed productions of AIDA, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, RENT, TICK TICK...BOOM, and the Westchester County Premier of NEXT TO NORMAL. He also spends his early mornings teaching indoor cycling at SoulCycle!
