Ring of Fire Begins to Burn on Broadway Feb. 8

Ring of Fire will begin previews on Wednesday, February 8th on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). The musical will open officially on Sunday, March 12th, 2006.

"In Ring of Fire, a remarkable cast of performers and musicians take us on a rousing adventure of love and faith, struggle and success -- all with the strength, humor and downright honesty that made Johnny Cash one of the greatest songwriters and most revered storytellers in American music," state press notes.

Ring of Fire features 38 of music legend Johnny Cash's songs such as "Country Boy," "A Thing Called Love," "Five Feet High and Rising," "Daddy Sang Bass," "Ring of Fire," "I Walk the Line," "I've Been Everywhere," "The Man in Black," and his final hit, "Hurt."

Ring of Fire was created by Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade. Directed by Maltby, Jr., Ring of Fire features musical direction by Jeff Lisenby and choreography by Lisa Shriver.

The cast includes Jeb Brown, Jason Edwards, Tony Award-winner Jarrod Emick, Beth Malone, Cass Morgan, two-time Grammy Award-winner Lari White, David M. Lutken, Randy Redd, Eric Anthony, Laurie Canaan, Dan Immel, Ron Krasinski, Jeff Lisenby, and Brent Moyer.
