The Laurie Beechman Theatre is pleased to announce a new talk/variety evening, "Saturday Night Underground," happening on select Saturdays, September through December. The evening will be a casual variety show, featuring interviews and performances from some of New York's most intriguing personalities. From 11PM til 2AM, join co-hosts Ben Rimalower (director of The Fabulous Life of a Size Zero, Joy and Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches) and Our Lady J (singer/songwriter of the celebrated Our Lady J and the Pink Champagne Orchestra) for this new, regular event in the theatre district.
For their inaugural evening, on September 15 "Saturday Night Underground" welcomes an array of New York's most ground-breaking talent, including: Kiki and Herb's Justin Bond (appearing in Justin Bond is Close To You: The Songs of the Carpenters at the Delacorte Theater September 29), Legally Blonde's Natalie Joy Johnson, "Dell Dude" Ben Curtis (appearing with "Whale" at Crash Mansion! September 19), Singer-Songwriter Lance Horne (appearing with Peter Capsis and Meow Meow on September 16 & 25, respectively, at Spiegeltent as well as Weimar New York on September 18) and Creation Nation's Eli Bolin (appearing in Chopsticks Larry at Ars Nova September 23).
The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located downstairs, within The West Bank Café (407 West 42nd St., at 9th Avenue.) There is a full bar menu available, and reservations are not necessary for this event. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis, and priority may be given to those who wish to order from the bar menu. There is no cover charge.
"Saturday Night Underground" plans return engagements on: October 6, November 10 and December 1, 11PM to 2AM.
