Dark Prophet Productions in association with Broadway Bound Theatre Festival have announced the world premiere of CONVICTED, written and directed by Riley Thomas (Stuck, Wearing Black).

CONVICTED will play Fri, Aug 4th at 12:30pm, Fri, Aug 11th at 7:30pm, and Mon, Aug 14th at 4:00pm, at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003). Tickets are $25 ($30 at the door) and are available at www.broadwayboundfestival.com or by calling 646-395-4310.

"Convicted is an agile, engaging drama with a hint of mystery and thriller that wouldn't be out of place on television." -- shares playwright and director Riley Thomas -- "In fact, the best way to describe it is as a gay Law & Order episode on stage. While themes of advocacy are woven through the play, the purpose of Convicted is not to preach to the choir. It is a call-to-arms for the LGBTQ community to do more to connect with those who continue to resist equality. Convicted abandons typical gay storylines in favor of exploring ideas that unite the community and offer a broader array of LGBTQ characters."

The local director of an LGBTQ advocacy organization becomes embroiled in a murder investigation when her intern is arrested for killing the fundamentalist mother of a young boy.

Starring Dylan Boyd* (Bway: Finding Neverland), Nandita Chandra (Film/TV: Falling Water, The Leftovers), David M. Farrington, Jennifer Knox* (Film/TV: The Dark Knight), Lacretta* (Bway: Disaster! Tour; The Book of Mormon), Steven Maier (Film/TV: Falling Water, Billions), Rachel Kara Pérez* (Latin Grammy Nominee), Sabina Petra* (Tour: Beauty and the Beast).

CONVICTED plays the following three performances: Friday, August 4th at 12:30pm; Friday, August 11th at 7:30pm; and Monday, August 14th at 4:00pm. Tickets are $25 ($30 at the door) and are available at www.broadwayboundfestival.com or by calling 646-395-4310. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the theater ½ hour prior to performances. Running Time: 90 minutes
