The New York Post writes that John Slattery is looking for his next project now that AMC's MAD MEN is over. And it's a play.
Not only that, but columnist Michael Riedel pitched the idea of pairing Slattery with fellow MAD MEN star Jon Hamm to two unnamed Broadway producers, who "nearly scratched each other's eyes out vying for the idea."
Stage veteran Slattery last starred on Broadway in David Lindsay-Abaire's 2006 play The Rabbit Hole. He also appeared in 2000's Betrayal and 1993's Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Among his off-Broadway credits are Three Days of Rain, for which he received a Drama Desk nomination, as well as Night and Her Stars, The Extra Man, Mi Vida Loca and The Lisbon Traviata.
Aside from MAD MEN, Hamm has appeared on TV in 30 Rock, Childrens Hospital, A Young Doctor's Notebook and more.
BroadwayWorld will keep you updated as we learn more about this possible Broadway power-duo. Riedel suggests The Front Page, Once in a Lifetime and Passion Play as potential vehicles for the stars.
Where is this train headed? Which play do you think the "Johns" should tackle? Tell us in the comments section!
