Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of the new musical, Annie Golden: Bounty Hunter, Yo!, by Joe Iconis, Lance Rubin, and Jason SweetTooth Williams this Saturday, March 28 in New York City.

Created in 2011 by Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat holds weeklong residencies in the Hudson Valley every summer for musical theatre writers to write their new musicals. The organization started this new program so that one of their alumni writing teams could continue the development of their musical. The program began a week ago with a table read of Annie Golden: Bounty Hunter, Yo!, with actors. Next, Joe, Lance, and Jason went to Rhinebeck for a five day residency to do rewrites. Now, they are back in New York for a week of rehearsals and will have a private reading on Saturday. The program is fully funded by Rhinebeck Writers Retreat.

Kathy Evans said, "We asked our alumni writers who had come up to Rhinebeck what else we could do for them. With their feedback, we created this unique program, which allows the writers to hear their musical in an informal setting, do major rewrites in Rhinebeck for a few days, and then return with a newly revised script and score to begin the 29-hour reading process, ending with a staged reading. I love working with writers and all of us - our Board of Directors and donors - are excited to play a part in seeing their work go to the next step."

The actors in the reading are Annie Golden, Jeff McCarthy, Lulu Fall, Badia Farha, Katie Lee Hill, Kingsley Leggs, Travis Mitchell, Herman Sebek, Jason Veasey, and Marvin Avila. It is directed by Leah Gardiner with musical direction is by Rob Baumgartner. The Line Producer is Matt Schicker and the stage manager is Pamela Remler.
