Bush is Bad, the critically lauded, "unabashedly partisan hit musical revue," is offering $7 tickets (reg. $45) to those who make purchases on Tuesday, November 7, Election Day.
"My producers advised me to 'stay the course' and not offer this steep discount," explained Joshua Rosenblum, the show's creator. "But I told them to read my lips: 'No full-price tickets on Election Day.'"
The $7 tickets can be used for any Thursday or Friday 9 pm performance, November 9 through December 29, 2006. It should be noted that there is no performance on Election Day.Now in its second smash year, Bush is Bad plays Thursdays & Fridays at 9 pm, and Saturdays at 7 pm, at the Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street).
The show debuted at the Triad in September, 2005 and ran for eleven months, before re-opening as Bush is Bad: Impeachment Edition on September 21, 2006.
The show, "which has been described as the hysterical love-child of Forbidden Broadway and 'The Daily Show,' offers catchy tunes, wickedly funny lyrics and scathing impersonations of the president and his dissembling gang of conspirators. Bush is Bad: Impeachment Edition currently features Lori Hammel, Neal Mayer and Tom Treadwell, with direction and choreography by Gary Slavin, and David Wolfson at the piano. Costumes are by Anne Auberjonois, with lighting and sound by Tonya Pierre. Song titles new this season include "Wake Me When It's 2009", "You Can Never Have Enough Bush," and "Torture Has Been Very Good To Me."
