BURNING by Ginger Lazarus, directed by Eric Parness; Begins Wednesday, February 3rd and will open on Sunday, February 7, at 7PM
In Burning, Cyrano has become Cy, a woman kicked out of the Army for being gay, who, like Cyrano, suffers from insecurity that prevents her from pursuing love. She now takes on the world with her words, blogging from her country store in a remote Western town near the base where she last served. The play is not only a fresh take on the Cyrano story, it tackles critical contemporary issues of gender inequality, discrimination based on sexual orientation, and military abuse. In love and war, words unspoken are the words that burn.
The Burning cast is led by Award winning actress Catherine Curtin ("Orange is the New Black," Film: The Wolf of Wall Street. NYC: The Lady from Dubuque), Chris Ceraso (Resonance's Master Builder), Zachary Clarence (Film: Catch 22), Shaun Bennet Fauntleroy (Resonance's The Truth Quotient), and Sean Phillips (Regional: Othello).
