Reinders, Jersey Boys, Carmello, Etc. Set for 'Jeopardy'

This November, "Jeopardy!" viewers will be treated to special in-show performances from some of Broadway's most popular shows when cast members from various Broadway hits make special appearances during "Celebrity Jeopardy!," scheduled for broadcast nationally November 8 - 21, 2006.  

From the world-renowned Radio City Music Hall in New York City, theatre stars will entertain audience members and viewers alike by delivering musical "clues" about some of today's most talked about theatrical shows. Hitting the stage during "Jeopardy!"'s most "famous" competition of all, will be musical acts from  Avenue Q, The Color Purple, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia! and Wicked.  

Wicked kicks-off "Celebrity Jeopardy!"'s opening night with  Kate Reinders as Glinda. Additional acts scheduled to perform are Mamma Mia!'s Carolee Carmello (Donna Sheridan), The Color Purple's Elisabeth Withers-Mendes (Shug Avery), Jersey Boys' Daniel Reichard (Bob Gaudio), J. Robert Spencer (Nick Massi), Christian Hoff (Tommy DeVito) and John Lloyd Young (Frankie Valli) and Avenue Q'sMary Faber (Kate Monster).

These stars represent shows that have been honored with a total of 11 Tony Awards and 29 nominations among them. Their special walk-on performances air on the following dates:

Wed. Nov. 8th-Reinders
Fri. Nov. 10th-Carmello
Tues. Nov. 14th-Withers-Mendes
Fri. Nov. 17th-Hoff, Reichard, Spencer and Young
Mon. Nov. 20th-Faber

"Celebrity Jeopardy!" also features theatre talent as contestants, including Martin Short (Fame Becomes Me), Bebe Neuwirth (Chicago), Mario Cantone (An Evening With Mario Cantone) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me, Kate) competing for a portion of $1 million to be donated to their special causes.  Celebrity participants are guaranteed $25,000 for their charity, while each show's winner is guaranteed $50,000.  
Jeopardy!, a winner of 27 Emmy awards since its debut in 1984, was recently inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most awards won by a TV Game Show.

The series is the #1-rated quiz show in syndication, and has held that title for over 1,000 weeks.   "Jeopardy!" is produced by Sony Pictures Television, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Company, and is distributed domestically by King World Productions, Inc.  The series is also distributed internationally by CBS Paramount International Television.  King World Productions, Inc. and CBS Paramount International Television are units of CBS Corp.
