Four young Broadway actors will take the stage at Cape Henlopen High School in Rehoboth Beach, DE on May 15 at 7:00 p.m. for an evening of song, dance and an inside look at what it means to earn a living on the Great White Way.
"Broadway Voices" is a new addition to the Clear Space Productions season. Each year, in May, performers from New York City will be invited to the beach for an evening of song and stories of life in musical theatre. This year will feature Kevin Collins, Leah Zeppel, Meghann Dreyfuss and
Britt Shubow.
Collins received a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 2001. Recent projects include the NYC Premiere of
One Way Ticket to Hell, world premieres of the new musicals
Paradise Lost and
For the Love of the Boy. Recent TV and film credits include "Law & Order," the ABC pilot "Pros & Cons," Comedy Central's "Stella," and the feature films
Aunt Rose, Inner Rage, Last Rites of the Dead, Creating Karma, and
Black Mazy, all due for release this year.
Dreyfuss (who is married to Collins) is a member of the original Broadway cast of
Mamma Mia!, in which she understudied the role of Sophie Sheridan for four years. Other New York roles include Gabby/Bobbi in
City of Angels, Guenevere in
Camelot, and Miriam in the recent staged reading of the new musical
Delilah at the York Theater. She has appeared on Television with the cast of
Mamma Mia! on NBC's "The Today Show," "Broadway on Broadway," the 2002 Tony Awards, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Shubow is currently performing in the Broadway production of
Mamma Mia!, where she understudies the character of Sophie. She has appeared on the Tony Awards, the "Today Show," and Broadway on Broadway. Regionally, she has performed at The Williamstown Theatre Festival in
Quark Victory, The Blue Demon, and
Camino Real with
Ethan Hawke. At the Carver Theatre, she played Sarah Brown in
Guys and Dolls and Hodel in
Fiddler on the Roof. Shubow did the first reading of Doug Yetter's
Divine Terror at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. She received a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
Zeppel is currently performing in the Broadway production of
Mamma Mia! She has been seen up and down the west coast in such parts as the Narrator in
Joseph... Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mollv in
The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Chava in
Fiddler on the Roof, Suzanne in
Paint Your Wagon and Elsie in
After The Fall; in addition to dancing in many a chorus along the way. She is a graduate of the acting program at the Los Angeles Theater Academy, traveled the world as the lead singer/dancer for Holland America Cruise Lines and saw the USA on a tour bus with the Young Americans, performing and teaching kids about the love of theater.
