Rebecca Naomi Jones to Host Musical Theatre Factory's April Salon

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present its monthly Factory Salon with guest host Rebecca Naomi Jones, and featuring the work of Justin Levine (Pepper and Sam), Sukari Jones and Ben Krauss, and Julia Jordan and Lisa DeSpain (Storyville) and performances by Jason Gotay (Spiderman, Bring it On) and Sara Kapner (bare the musical).

The Factory Salon is an informal open mic night for new musical theatre songs where writers and performers are encouraged to showcase their new works. The Factory Salon takes place Wednesday, April 27 from 8 p.m. to midnight at The PIT Underground (123 E. 24 St. between Park and Lexington.) Tickets are $10 at the door and advance reservations can be made at http://mtf.nyc/events/april-factory-salon/.

REBECCA NAOMI JONES is a proud native New Yorker. Rebecca has always been happiest when engaging in creatively provocative conversation, on and off stage. On Broadway, Rebecca starred in the acclaimed rock musical Passing Strange, created by Stew and Heidi Rodewald (of the band The Negro Problem). She next appeared on Broadway as the city girl "Whatsername" in Green Day/Michael Mayer's dystopian letterbomb to the country, American Idiot. Most recently, she performed on Broadway opposite John Cameron Mitchell as "Yitzhak" to his "Hedwig" in Hedwig & The Angry Inch. Select theater credits include Big Love (Drama League nomination) Murder Ballad (Lucille Lortel Nomination) The Fortress of Solitude at the Public and Love's Labour's Lost at the Delacorte. Select TV/Film credits: Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll, Inside Amy Schumer, High Maintenance, Difficult People, Limitless, Ratter, and the celebrated PBS filmed version of Passing Strange, directed by Spike Lee. Rebecca is an Associate Artist with The Civilians and holds a BFA in Drama from the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Musical Theatre Factory is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization dedicated to helping musical theatre artists develop and present new work in a collaborative atmosphere free from the pressures of critical or commercial success. More information can be found at www.MTF.nyc.
