Joe's Pub will be featuring a line-up of numerous Broadway stars this April and May including: Anthony Rapp, Sutton Foster, Billy Porter, Kevin Chamberlin, Justin Bond, Nora York, Jeffrey Johnson, Galt MacDermott and the Hair tribe.

Justin will be introducing some original songs and will also be bringing back favorite covers, characters and sketches she's done in the past. Expect the unexpected. The final Sunday of Mx Bond's spring residency, May 9th is both Mother's Day AND mx Bond's birthday so it should be quite a blow-out!  $20 / $50 (May 9)

EAR OF THE HEART: THE MUSIC OF Galt MacDermot

Ear of the Heart: the music of Galt MacDermot is a feature-length documentary currently in post production about the iconic and prolific composer of the musical 'Hair', Galt MacDermot.  Beloved by Broadway and Hip-Hop fans alike, this film follows Galt's music career and reveals the depth and spirituality of his unforgettable body of work.

 Join Galt MacDermot along with HAIR tribe members and special guests who will perform from his extensive repertoire.   Selected scenes from the documentary will be screened.  Proceeds from the benefit will be used to finish this film and help to assure that Galt's music will be around for generations to come.

Billy Porter: THE STANDARD

 Billy Porter returns to the concert stage with an exploration of The Contemporary American Standard. With songs made famous by Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Donnie Hathaway, Oleta Adams, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Elton John, The Beatles and others - Mr. Porter illuminates a new generation of "song" that stands the test of time.  $25

NYU Tisch Presents NORA YORK'S CABARET CENTRAL: OLD SONGS MADE NEW
Friday, April 30 at Midnight

In the final installment of our cabaret series, accomplished cabaret performer, writer, and musician Nora York brings her unique ability to place familiar music in a context and form that makes it feel brand new.  A collaboration by a collective of music theatre artists from the Drama Department, the audience will revel in the "diamonds" they reveal. $10 regular price / $7 w/ student ID

JEFFREY JOHNSON: EDIE BEALE LIVE AT RENO SWEENEY

Little Edie Beale's infamous 1978 cabaret act re-staged!  Written by Gerald Duval, Edie Beale's manager for the Reno Sweeney event, After the Garden brings back to life those 7 nights in 1978 that only a handful of people had the opportunity to see. Ganymede Arts, DC's Complete GLBT arts company is pleased to bring back to Joe's Pub its world premiere hit.

THE BREITHAUPT BROTHERS SONGBOOK W/ SPECIAL GUESTS

Don and Jeff Breithaupt, the composer and lyricist (respectively) that comprise the Breithaupt Brothers, bring their ever-evolving songbook back to Joe's Pub for another all-star revue, featuring a bumper crop of new songs and favorites, a sparkling house band, and a still-evolving line-up that -- so far -- includes Lea DeLaria, Kate Baldwin, Kevin Earley, Carolyn Leonhart, Graham Rowat, Jamie Leonhart, Rikki Rumball, and Shelley McPherson. For further line-up announcements, please check back here in coming days.  Past performers of the Breithaupt Brothers' material include Tony Award-winners James Naughton and LaChanze, multiple Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara, Norm Lewis, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Catherine Russell, Denzal Sinclaire, Rebecca Martin, Adam Brazier, BETTY, Sarah Slean, Patricia O'Callaghan, and Grammy nominee Kate McGarry, among many others. Their songs have been featured on Showtime's The L Word and have been recorded by Brent Carver, Dione Taylor, Adi Braun, Rikki Rumball, Denzal Sinclaire, Joe Coughlin, and Lorraine Lawson. Don was honored with a 2009 Emmy Award for outstanding theme song for the Canadian television show 6teen (Cartoon Network). The Breithaupt Brothers wrote the songs for Seeing Stars, an original boxing musical, which was read in February 2009 as part of the York Theatre's Development Reading Series and enjoyed a sold-out run in October 2009 as one of 12 double blind-juried "Next Link" shows at the New York Musical Theater Festival.  In January 2010, the Breithaupt Brothers debut recording, Toronto Sings the Breithaupt Brothers Songbook, was released.

Join two time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin and Friends for "Broadway Sings TV".  Tune in Monday Evening, May 3rd at 930pm at Joe's Pub as Kevin and some of the hottest Broadway performers sing your favorite TV Theme Songs like you've never heard them before.  Take a nostalgic trip back in time -from the 1960's thru the 1990's - when Kevin and his surprise guests put a new spin on some old classics from your childhood.  All proceeds will go to Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS.

Pop tunes. Original tunes. Show tunes. Currently playing Lucas Beineke in Broadway's The Addams Family, after originating the role of Franz in the Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of Rock of Ages (Theatre World Award/OCC nomination), Wesley Taylor is thrilled to sing in your face while you get drunk. Joining him are Mitch Jarvis (Rock of Ages, Fiddler...), Lauren Molina (Sweeney Todd, Rock of Ages), and Krysta Rodriguez (The Addams Family, In the Heights), with a surprise guest or two! Mary-Mitchell Campbell/piano, Damien Bass/drums, Christian Imboden/guitar.

NYU Tisch Presents Sutton Foster'S CABARET CENTRAL: FROM RODGERS TO HEART
Friday, May 7 at MIDNIGHT

Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster, who has originated leading roles in five new musicals and recently starred as Princess Fiona in Shrek The Musical, comes to the Drama Department to create a presentation that demonstrates the special alchemy between actor and audience that happens in cabaret performance. With an emphasis on "owning" the song, audiences will be taken on a musical journey that reveals the interpretive power of solo performance. $10 / $7 w/ student ID

RYNESS
Monday, May 10 at 9:30 PM

Ryness is a New York City-based rock band that strives to connect with the transcendent in music, passion, and spirit. Formed in 2007, the band is led by singer and guitarist Bryce Ryness whose diverse musical background spurs on the talents of lead guitarist Jeff Washburn, drummer Robin Lai, and bassist Jae Ko. Ryness writes songs about the tension between good & evil, love & lust, ecstasy & pain. Reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and U2, Ryness' live show is not to be missed; full of passion, excitement, and energy.

Their first studio album, A Fire In The Night, released May 18th, 2009. Additionally, the band released a live album in 2008 recorded at the world-renowned Joe's Pub.
