Choreographer RANARDO-DOMEICO GRAYS, founder/artistic director of VISIONS Contemporary Ballet, will present his Company in Healing Works II, Saturday, November 10th at The Theatre at the Riverside Church, entrance 91 Claremont Avenue.
A four-year brain cancer survivor, Grays is committed to presenting cross-cultural contemporary ballet works that relay universal messages of optimism and the human experience.
His Company's November 10th performance,Healing Works II, will feature the newly completed "Dash - Between," along with "Through the Valley," a ballet inspired by his journey; "Roots," and "Beautiful Madness," performed by original company member Rebekah J. Kennedy, who will be making a special guest appearance. Company dancers performing are Sasha Alvarez, Alexandria Amstutz, Alden Henderson, Allegra Kirksey-Curtis, and Denzel Taylor.
The Company will also appear in the Fast Forward series at Dixon Place on September 18th, and will return to The Bandshell in Central Park in support of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 14th. In December,VISIONS will travel to Grays' hometown of Detroit to present VISIONS Contemporary Ballet: Healing Works II, adding to the program "Queen of Soul," a piece dedicated to Aretha Franklin, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on December 19th.
