On Monday, October 4, 2010, Tony Award winning actress and Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez and Emmy award winning television personality and the evening's host Carson Kressley, will be joined by a host of Broadway stars for an intimate evening to celebrate Broadway Takes the Runway - an evening of fashion and song. All proceeds from the night will benefit the Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation, which honors the close friend of Ramirez and Kressley, who was lost to liver cancer in 2008.
An impressive cast of Broadway's brightest stars will be performing various showtunes while donning fabulous designer fashions all for a good cause. The line-up includes Tony Award winning actress

Montego Glover (Memphis), Tony Award nominee Robin DeJesus (In The Heights, La Cage), Emmy Award-winner
Michael Park (As the World Turns, Little Me),
Christopher Jackson (In The Heights) and
Billy Porter (Angels in America) and
Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture).
Audra McDonald and other special guests are scheduled to appear. Schele Willliams is directing the show and
Mary Mitchell Campbell is musical director.
"This special evening and gathering of friends was created in the memory of our dear friend, Al - who loved Broadway AND a great pair of heels! We have amazing talent that will be up close and personal in a small venue, it will truly be a night of celebration," says Kressley.
"In addition to the celebration we have planned, this is a very personal evening for us. We are really looking forward to sharing our stories and memories of Al while singing memorable Broadway songs that he loved and that we love as well!" comments Ramirez.
Kressley and Ramirez are founding Board Members of the organization and were inspired to create the
Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation to honor their dear friend, Al, who died in 2008 of liver cancer. ADRLF is a non-profit organization committed to providing resources, education and information related to screening, prevention and treatment for the hepatitis virus and liver cancer. Among its many other projects, ADRLF partners with the Actor's Fund /
Al Hirschfeld Clinic to provide free screenings for the uninsured for hepatitis and liver cancer. 100% of the evening's profits go to the Foundation.
