Radio Happy Hour is back on Saturdays on July 17. This episode will feature David Dondero as a struggling restaurateur and William Ocean as the celebrity chef who will save the restaurant, until his rival chef turns up dead in the kitchen. The episode will also feature an appearance from comedians John & Molly Knefel, who will be hosting the audience quiz. Other comedians and musicians are lined up to make some surprise appearances throughout the show and in the radioplay and will be announced throughout the next couple weeks.

Stayed tuned to RadioHappyHour.com for a slew of new releases all week. Episode #10 featuring Nick Diamonds of Islands, actor Eddie Kaye Thomas, and comedian Murray Hill (with guest appearances from comedian Max Silvestri, Saturday Night Live writer Jessi Klein, composer David Handler, and Dustin Luke Nelson) will be released early next week. We will also be debuting three videos with brand new songs from Nick Diamonds, a new pre-production sketch from the Radio Happy Hour crew, new guest announcements for the fall (including an appearance from Born Ruffians in October and a few special night tapings).

Radio Happy Hour, the radio show not on the radio, is a live variety show featuring a made-for-radio murder mystery sitcom, guest stars, musical performances, an audience quiz, and interviews with the guests. Past shows have seen Norah Jones as a motel manager; Michael Showalter as the host of his very own cable fitness show; Andrew W.K. as the iconic John Bender character from The Breakfast Club; Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio) as the founder of a wilderness camp for ineffectual men; Kumail Nanjiani as a ventriloquist with a southern dummy; Craig Finn & Tad Kubler (The Hold Steady) as brothers and Chuck Klosterman as their dad on a doomed road trip to a small town called Manhattan, Minnesota.

Radio Happy Hour is the creation of Sam Osterhout, who also writes and serves as the show's host. "We try to book guests that have personalities that cross at odd angles," said Osterhout, "But there are always these neat little connections. You never know what will happen." All shows are podcast online following the performance. You can hear past episodes of Radio Happy Hour, with guests such as Norah Jones, Andrew W.K., The Hold Steady, Tunde Adebimpe (of TV on the Radio), Cursive, Jesse Eisenberg, Tapes 'n Tapes, Michael Showalter, Eugene Mirman, Chuck Klosterman, and more on the official website or at iTunes.
