Daniel Radcliffe, who starred in the past West End revival of Peter Shaffer's classic and controversial play, Equus, confirmed long-time rumors that he and Richard Griffiths (castmate and Harry Potter co-star) will headline the production on Broadway.
In an interview with MTV News, Radcliffe said: "In all probability, if everything goes according to plan, it would definitely be me and Richard Griffiths and how many other cast members the unions will allow." Radcliffe also predicts the Broadway production will stretch its legs on Broadway late next year.
No further details, official dates or cast listings have been announced.
Radcliffe, a world-wide notable as the face of Harry Potter in the blockbuster movie series, made his West End stage debut opposite multi-award winning actor Richard Griffiths (Tony Award 2006 Best Actor in a Play - The History Boys) at London's Gielud Theatre February 24, 2007 where it played to nearly sold-out audiences through June 9. The London cast also included Jenny Agutter and Will Kemp.
The West End revival was directed by Thea Sharrock and designed by the play's original designer John Napier. Equus won the 1975 Tony Award for Best Play and was later made into a film starring Richard Burton in 1977.
