Rachael Sage returns to the renowned Café Carlyle - known for featuring top musical talents such as Woody Allen, Cyndi Lauper and Judy Collins - tonight, November 21st to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of her album "Public Record". Her most popular album to date, "Public Record" contains many fan-favorites by the New York based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, who co-produced the album in 2003 with Grammy Winner Andy Zulla (Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson).
For this special performance, Sage will accompany herself on piano and guitar and will be joined by longtime collaborator Russ Johnson on trumpet (Elvis Costello, Aretha Franklin) along with cellist Stephanie Winters (Richie Havens, Paula Cole), who played all of the original string parts on "Public Record". The trio will perform a unique program of material from "Public Record", including brand new arrangements of "Too Many Women" - which appeared in the movie "Fame" - along with "Someone Save Me" (which Sage wrote in high school as a response to being bullied), "What If", "Bravedancing" and "Frost", which Sage discovered has become a staple in the competitive dance world, via You Tube.
A soulful vocalist and innovative keyboardist, Sage performs over 150 shows a year internationally and has appeared at two Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, where her engaging theatricality and compelling stage presence earned her rave reviews. A former ballerina who discovered her flair for melodic composition while attending The School Of American Ballet, she's shared the stage with Grammy Winners Sarah McLachlan, Judy Collins, Marc Cohn, Suzanne Vega, and Ani DiFranco, and received many accolades including several Independent Music Awards.
Between now and November 21st - which also happens to be Rachael's birthday - "Public Record" will be available at a special anniversary discount, while signed copies of the album will be give away free to all those attending the Carlyle show. Tickets are $30 per person with a two-drink minimum. For reservations visit www.thecarlyle.com, or call 212-744-1600. The Café Carlyle in The Carlyle Hotel (a Rosewood Hotel) is located at 35 East 76th Street at Madison Avenue.
