The 11th Annual UCP of NYC Golf Tournament and Celebrity Dinner will be held today, July 23, 2011 at Brae Burn Country Club and Century Golf Clubs in Westchester County, New York. The annual tournament attracts over 200 golfers from the tri-state area for a fun day of golf and entertainment. All proceeds from the event support the vital programs provided by UCP of NYC to thousands of New Yorkers with disabilities and their families.
Edward R. Matthews, CEO, United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), announced that television actress Jill Flint, star of the hit series Royal Pains and a committed supporter of UCP of NYC, will Host the 11th Anniversary of the tournament. He also announced that Emmy-Award winning Fox 5 Sports Commentator, Len Berman will Emcee the Celebrity Dinner.
“For quite some time now, Jill Flint has dedicated herself to helping UCP of NYC raise awareness about the many programs and services we offer to families throughout New York City. We are proud to have her as Host of our 11th Annual Golf Tournament,” says Edward R. Matthews. “We are equally thrilled to have Len Berman as our event Emcee, especially this year, as we are honoring two incredible young men involved with athletics at Villanova with the new UCP of NYC Champion Award.”
This year UCP of NYC is celebrating the inaugural presentation of the UCP of NYC Champion Award at the 11th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament. The UCP of NYC Champion Award recognizes individuals with disabilities who demonstrate the power to inspire and lead as role models for people with and without disabilities. UCP of NYC is honoring Frank Kineavy and Nicholas Gaynor, student managers for Villanova’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Program with this important new award.

The Tournament Schedule begins with a 9:00 am Player Registration & Breakfast at the Brae Burn Country Club followed by a 10:30 am Shotgun Start at the Brae Burn & Century Country Clubs. Lunch will be on the course at noon and players will return to the clubhouse at Brae Burn for a 4:00 pm Cocktail Reception.
The Celebrity Dinner and Auction starts at 6:00 pm followed by the Awards Presentation and a full evening of entertainment.
Jill Flint stars as Jill Casey in the hit USA Network original series Royal Pains. Flint’s film credits include Cadillac Records with Adrien Brody and The Women with Meg Ryan. She was also recently seen in How I Got Lost with Rosemarie DeWitt. Additional film credits include What Just Happened, On Broadway, Garden State, and Fake. She will next be seen in the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man opposite Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.
Flint is also a recurring guest star on the hit CW series Gossip Girl, and has appeared as a recurring guest star on The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie, Mercy, Six Degrees, CSI: Miami, Conviction and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Flint resides in New York City.
Veteran Sportscaster Len Berman is an Emmy-Award winning sportscaster and New York Times Best Selling Author who has covered just about every major sports event including multiple Super Bowls, World Series, and Olympics during his 40-year career in broadcasting.
He is the creator of “Spanning the World,” a monthly collection of sports bloopers, which is a long time staple on NBC’s Today Show. He is also the creator of “Sports Fantasy,” which aired on NBC and pitted regular viewers against famous sports stars.
He was a long-time sports anchor for WNBC-TV, the recipient of eight Emmy Awards and 6-time winner of New York Sportscaster of the Year. His sixth book (fifth for young readers), The Greatest Moments in Sports: Upsets and Underdogs (Sourcebooks) is due out in September. The Greatest Moments in Sports (Sourcebooks), made the New York Times Best Seller List. His other books: The 25 Greatest Baseball Players of All Time (Sourcebooks), Spanning The World (HarperCollins), And Nobody Got Hurt! (Little, Brown), And Nobody Got Hurt 2! (Little, Brown).
