ROCKERS ON BROADWAY Will Return for 23rd Year This November

The Path Fund Inc. will present the 23rd Annual ROCKERS ON BROADWAY®: AMERICAN ROCK & ROLL on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street) at 8 p.m. ROCKERS ON BROADWAY, the original Broadway rock concert series, is a fun and unique charity event that features Broadway's best rockers performing classic American Rock & Roll to benefit Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and non-profit performing arts education programs. Rock & Roll is as American as apple pie! It sent shockwaves across the country in the early 50's when a whole generation of rebellious teenagers ditched the music of their parents and moved to a whole new beat! ROCKERS ON BROADWAY®: AMERICAN ROCK & ROLL will celebrate that bygone era when Elvis, Little Richard and Buddy Holly ruled the airwaves and made the country shake, rattle, and roll! Nowadays our rockin' playlists include Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, and many more American greats.

Each year ROCKERS ON BROADWAY® honors music industry and theatrical luminaries who have inspired and enhanced our community. This year, the Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Tony Award-winning composer, conductor, orchestrator and musician, Tom Kitt. Kitt received the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well as two Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Orchestrations for Next to Normal. He is also the composer of If/Then, High Fidelity, and Bring it On, The Musical (co-composer with Lin-Manuel Miranda). Tom is also responsible for the music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations for Green Day's American Idiot on Broadway, and provided additional arrangements for their Grammy Award-winning album 21st Century Breakdown and their album trilogy, ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tre?! Tom also received an Emmy Award as co- writer (with Lin-Manuel Miranda) for the 2013 Tony Award opening number, Bigger. Currently, Kitt is hard at work on SpongeBob Squarepants, The Musical; Freaky Friday; and Magic Mike.

Proceeds from this year's ROCKERS ON BROADWAY® will be distributed between the Path Fund Inc.'s chosen beneficiaries: Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Dreams Foundation, Broadway Bound Kids and The Felix Organization.

The PATH Fund gives artists in many fields an avenue to share their unique talents while helping raise money for charities that benefit arts and entertainment organizations. We are a community of artists, writers, musicians, designers, crew, producers, directors and audience members committed to helping people in need and fostering up-and-coming talent.

Building on the successful presentation of the annual ROCKERS ON BROADWAY® benefit concert, the PATH creative team has created PATH PRODUCTIONS to produce special and private events, as well as develop and workshop new works in music and theatre. Since the inception of Rockers in 1993, they have raised $500,000 for performing arts charities.
