After a successful Kickstarter campaign with GrooveBox Studios, Go Comedy! Improv Theater is set to welcome back Robocop! The Musical May 31st with a new, professionally recorded score, original cast album and more.

Robocop! The Musical first debuted at Go Comedy! In June of 2010 when it was titled RoGoCop! The Musical. Following the show's initial engagement, Go Comedy! began planning for the show's return, improving on the original production. In order to do that, Go Comedy! joined forces with the non-profit GrooveBox Studios to launch a fundraiser campaign on Kickstarter.com. Seeking to raise $5,000, the 3-week online campaign successfully raised more than $6,000 from over 100 donors.  "We are very excited to bring Robocop back to our stage. Last year's production was a huge success. For this year's show, we've added new songs, tightened up the script and are recording new backing tracks with Groovebox Studios to make it an even better experience." stated Go Comedy! Producer Pj Jacokes.

Robocop! The Musical is a live, musical parody of the iconic film, RoboCop and an original production with book by Sean May (Eastpointe) and music by May and Ryan Parmenter (Plymouth). Robocop! The Musical is a fun, hilarious, re-imagining of the tale of a robotic police officer who protects a futuristic Detroit from crime. Featuring such songs as "Armchair Nightmare," "I Don't Know (How To Love A Robot)," and "It's Not Easy Being Gay When You're a Gangster," the production is directed by Joe Plambeck (Ferndale) and features Micah Caldwell (Garden City), Christa Coulter (Royal Oak), Genevieve Jona (Farmington Hills), Bryan Lark (Ferndale), Sean May, Sean McGettigan (Ferndale), Brian Papendrea (Sterling Heights), Pete Podolski (Wyandotte), Tara Tomcsik (Northville), and Dez Walker (Royal Oak) with choreography by Molly Zaleski (Ferndale). Robocop! The Musical will run Thursday and Friday nights at 8 p.m. May 31 - August 3. Tickets ($15) will go on sale Friday, May 4 online at www.gocomedy.net
